Okay, first important thing: Garden of Shadows is down, but it's hoped it'll be back up before the weekend is out. See Nymphy's post here and Jenfold's here. TSR is made of fail and GoDaddy is made of a similar amount of fail. Just doing my part to spread the word a bit.
Second, my Stolen by Fairies mod was broken. This is important so here is a picture to catch people's eye.

Now, it wasn't broken BADLY, not in any game-breaking way, but in such a way that one of the PTs would never get to spawn any spawn-- and it's not my fault, the original eight-PT mod was like that. Thanks to Widget for catching it, and you can download the fixed mod file here:
DOWNLOAD ME!
I'll have the main post fixed in a few minutes.
Cynnix has added a pregmorph to Aligeth's men's nightgown mesh, finally providing a loose, comfy option for pregnant men in historical circumstances! Actually, if you're keeping up with this journal but haven't visited the page in a while, you should probably visit my page of lists, because an astonishing number of people have started poking at my wishlist and I feel all giddy because of it. There are links to goodies that fix things or add things or make things more versatile, go look!
And yes I finally WILL be getting those leafyhairs up tonight; I had to make it so the toddler hairs weren't unisex (the adult hairs aren't and leaving the toddler hairs unisex just clutters up your bins) and wait for a pair of alien twins to grow up enough that I could take pics of the toddler hairs.

Date: 2010-04-30 10:49 pm (UTC)And thanks for the links -- the goodies links and the info links! I was afraid there were some TSR shenanigans behind GOS being down. :( Evil people. Have they nothing better to do than sabatage other Simmers' enjoyment of the game?
Maybe if they spent more time making decent content (because I remember quite a few TSR WTFs on the "Worst Finds" thread) and less time pulling this sort of stuff, they'd get enough subscribers that they wouldn't worry about the Booty so much. ;)

Date: 2010-05-01 01:50 am (UTC)TSR pretty much wants to be the One Ring that rules them all, and gets a bit pissy when the rest of the internet says "No." They're asshats.

Date: 2010-05-01 02:50 am (UTC)Then I read the highlighted portions of the EULA up at MATY and thought, "Hey, wait a minute ..."
I can see why GOS would be on their "hit list," though. We're big on filesharing and TS2 ... and while Liegen is generally awesome, she (?) alas, is not as scary as Pescado. ;)

Date: 2010-05-01 02:57 am (UTC)I've been downloading CC since the days when Sims 1 was just called The Sims. I was around when TSR was new, when TSR was free, and when TSR (and WDS and Sim Freaks and ATS and others) went pay, and when EVERYBODY put out PayPal donation cups. At first I was shocked, but everybody said "It's the bandwidth!" and... eh, it was the bandwidth. I subscribed to WDS for a while, and to Sim Freaks, and once I tried very hard to donate to ATS but her French email client wouldn't let me; on TSR, there was a rotation that meant eventually everything would be free at some point.
And then the guy who originally ran it, who used to work for Maxis (yes, this was before they sold themselves to EA), sold it to Thomas, and apparently everything went to hell in a handbasket.
I was pretty "erm... I dunno..." about the Booty initially, too-- remembering the days when it was legal as I did, and not realizing that a few donation items are one thing but a pay subscription site is a whole new ball of wax-- but between the EULA and finding out what kind of nonsense went on at TSR and being REALLY frustrated with how pretty some of Rose's pay hairs were, I caved.
