Two roads diverged in a yellow wood...

Man, I loves me some default replacements. I really do. Default replacements are just awesome. Stev84's dusty roads are incredibly awesome default replacements-- I've got 'em for grassy and desert terrains (and Psychosim's cobblestones for dirt. For concrete, I need something that replaces the terrain, too). However, when you have Seasons installed, you may notice a problem with Stev84's replacements, or any road replacement that borrows the terrain's... well, terrain.

Snow doesn't fall on the roads, see. It falls around them. The roads lay on top, so your lovely wintry neighborhood with its dusty roads has random strips of grass between each rut.

So I says to myself, I says, "I wonder if I can alpha edit that?"

It turns out I can! And now I share, because Sims 2 stuff is no good unless you share.

Of Note!

First things first, this is a default replacement. If you have any other road replacements for the grassy (lush? I think it's lush, actually) terrain, you'll have to remove them in order to use this. There can be only one.

Second, and equally important, this is all Stev84's work. All I did was remove the grassy bits (which took a while, believe you me). All hail Stev84!

Third, this is ONLY a change to Stev84's mod from neighborhood view. I tried to alpha edit the lot view roads, and discovered that, um. You get a lovely view of the sky under your neighborhood when you do that. Lot view will be Stev84's roads with no change.

Fourth, I have not included Stev84's floor tiles for fixing the streets in front of your houses. Go here for that.

As ever, the policy on this one is 'give credit where credit is due' and 'default replacements should never be pay, dammit.'

As an added bonus, you don't get sharp grassy corners intruding onto your sandy stretches in beachy neighborhoods anymore! (The cart there is one of Hexameter's default replacements.)

Wanna help me feed my cats?

In case you feel like dropping me a buck or two, should you have a buck or two to spare. Donors get two things at the moment: a) a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery, full of pictures of the cats you'll be feeding, updated sporadically when the cats do something photogenic and I'm fast enough on the trigger to catch it, and b) a link to the list of content I have done-but-not-screencapped, nearly done, partly done, or in the planning stages, and the option to suggest what ought to be in the next batch of things I focus on.

VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE! If your road stopped being transparent, it's not because my files went funny, it's because of the various skybox/skyfix mods we have now. Go here and download the Neighborhood Road Transparency Fix! Clears it right up.
