PRAISE BE UNTO: Nouk, for meshes and shiny new wavy textures that I shall be heartily abusing, Melodie9, for age and gender conversions of Maxis meshes, Ja, for textures I periodically pilfer, Rose, Sims 2 Heaven, Sims Connection, EAxis, and Aquilegia for meshes (in this dump. More in others), Lyn for making sure I had a working copy of Photoshop, Pooklet for her color actions and for making sure they work with various versions of Photoshop, Cynnix for doing pregmorphs on assorted meshes and asking that I do long, straight hair that goes behind the shoulders, and to my generous donators, who made it possible for me to release twenty hairs all in one go without getting my Photobucket hammered.

HEY LISTEN! Meshes are included. Swatches are included in the zip files, everything is compressorized. Polycounts vary, but I think everything in this batch is pretty reasonable-- most of it is on the old side. (Please alert me if I'm wrong about that.) Elders go gray, but you also get Time Bomb in the custom bin, just in case Primer isn't platinum enough for you. All female hairs are maternity-wear enabled from teen and up, and all male hairs from YA and up, to stop the weird hair disappearing act that happens if you don't have a Pregnant Sims Wear Any Outfit hack (but why wouldn't you?).

ANNOYING THINGS I DO: My filenames are stupidly long, so please feel free to shorten them. Better you edit them to suit your needs than I hand you thirty different files that are all named VOLATILE and piss everyone off, right? Also, each hair has an elder gray attached instead of only being stuck to black or blond (because if you want to only keep four colors or something, this way you can swap out textures and still have all the grays. Or choose which color you want your gray carried on. Whatever). Feel free to re-bin things to suit yourself, or do the neons, or whatever. Go hog wild, seriously. Just keep it off of paysites and give credit where credit is due (which may vary per hair).

Dear Marja, thank you so much for fixing the forehead of this hair. I love you. The mesh included with this hair is intended to overwrite the original mesh for this hair, so if you have any other iterations of Rose 057 (or 054, same mesh), you may want to slip Marja's fixed file in there. Otherwise there will be... sad, strange things happening to your Sims' foreheads. It was hidden by the bangs, but the thing about bangs? They're not period in Western Europe until the late 1860s. (Regency period excepted, but those were expected to be curly wispy bangs.)

Aquilegia edited this mesh so that it has a SANE number of groups and all the highlights line up in a reasonable fashion and I love Aquilegia. So basically, this is a recolor-friendly version of Nouk's Male Long hair. This one, in many ways, is for Morgaine.

Hey, it turns out I did have a photo of a short female hair in monk gear! So I'll once again explain that monks (and nuns? Haven't decided on terminology yet-- Sims of the cloth) are encouraged to keep their hair cut short. No more than a finger's length. Kind of because it's a vanity, and kind of because long hair is a bitch to deal with, and Sims of the Church should be out there doing good works, not trying to get a comb through their hair.

Do you have a shirt or a pair of earrings or a hat or something where people just come up to you and go "I love your X!"? That's how I figure this little dragonfly hair stick has to work. This is a big-ass download because EAxis somehow screwed up in linking teen to the other ages, so you've got two sets of textures up in here. Anyone who knows how to fix it is welcome to fix it.

I know this one has been Pooklet'd before, but I did two different things to it-- I upped the contrast just enough so I felt like I could really see the waves, and I did the grays the way I like 'em (and with a gray for each color, so you can do the grays the way you like 'em, too).

I do a ton of Takemizu hairs, so it was about time I did a Twikkii Island hair. I love this stupid hair, it's so nutty. Crab of Doom provided the black hair wrap and technically the beads-- hers were bone, but I played with the saturation until they came out looking the way they do. I was kinda thrilled.

And I'm thrilled you did, because the meshes you fixed are the ones I did for Cynnix, because she's doing Medieval pregmorphs. It's like a favor chain. I totally love this community.

Fix that it's not properly linked, you mean? (You know, Maxis did that with their M&G hairs, too. Slacking off on the job over there.)

Yeah, the one that's not properly linked. I could re-do them, but that would take way long. So I was thinking, I could also refer the teen files to the adult counterparts and change the family string. That would mean you'd keep all the files, but at least the size of the teen files would be minuscule. The teen files would require the adult counterpart in order to work. That OK?

How does it affect recolors, if someone wanted to do the neons? (Not understanding how the recolors would work is why I'm always so hesitant to download texture-referenced clothes. It makes a fair bit more sense with hair, though.) Would this fixinating involve having a separate mesh package? The one I've got also gives the original Maxis recolors.

I didn't know, so I checked :) What I did is take the teen hair file and refer the TXMT to the texture file in the adult hair file. Then I deleted the texture in the teen hair file, because that wasn't needed anymore and deleting it saves space. It turned out that's all OK, everything is still working. I also checked what happened when I recolored in bodyshop, and that works as well :D
I've kept the same mesh files, only I extracted the mesh from those ridiculous files maxis made, including all the recolors.
