A combo post, because it took me so darned long remember that, for Reasons I Guess, the 'summon spectral cat' spell does not show in the spellbook, it's just... on the mage. "Oh," I says, "he must not have it yet. Oh well. Keep studying!" So once I finally got the danged cat, I was not waiting longer than necessary to line up the title card shot.

Both the Around The Sims Cat Cafe cat bed and Thunderwitch's Yarn Ball cat toy come in my usual deluxe crayon box of 82 Pooklet Project Mayhem naturals, Aelia Autumn, and CuriousB Any Color You Like actions, with the bed being done in a shaded Magpie Linen and the ball of yarn over a new wool-yarn texture. That I did not save in any useful-for-crediting way. Well done me.

Is the Around The Sims bed a historical mesh? ... eh kinda? It's a very decorative pillow, of the sort they wouldn't really have made in the Middle Ages, but if this shape is a shape you can see working for your period, then the only thing that makes this a cat bed is that it's, uh, on the floor for the cat to sleep on. And that's a thing I can just see happening, generally. "Ah yes that pillow got dropped a week ago, someone would pick it up, but it's Fluffy's favorite now. No help for it."

Is Thunderwitch's yarnball mesh historically accurate? ... I mean it's a ball of yarn stolen by a cat, so. Yes. If you've got yarn and cats in the same place, this is going to happen. And knitting is Medieval! Nalbinding or nail-binding was a single-needle knitting technique the Vikings used to make proper fitted wool socks (because if there's anywhere you need snug wool socks, it's Vikingland), and we do have Medieval images of the Virgin Mary knitting. So historically, this whole thing is fine.

In case you feel like dropping me a buck or two, should you have a buck or two to spare. I don't do pay content and I can't seem to get requests done in a timely fashion, so donors get a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery (you help feed my cats, you get to see lots and lots of pictures of my cats) and my to-do list Google doc, in case there's anything on there that makes a donor go 'oooh, when are you working on that one?'
