Ah, Skyrim. I'm sure it's a wonderful game. My chiefest exposure to it comes from conversions for Sims 2. This edition of Buy Mode Blitz includes three stoves Sunni extracted from Skyrim, two of them in Sunni's own Wizard's Tower metals-- or at least half of them.

A pretty bare-bones shot, there, but as you can see, the available stoves are Pot, Spit, and Cauldron. Still! Stove options are always nice, and there are few enough out there that I think work really well. ... Even if these are... well, I don't know how cooking works in Skyrim, but these are more 'useful for Sims' than 'flawlessly historically accurate. So let's look at them individually.

The Cauldron Stove is a little big, but is otherwise historically accurate-- tripod clay pots were very common (it's just that the person doing the cooking would have their pot on the coals of the hearth, and sit down on the floor to cook. Sims need things at counter height, the poor babies).

This picture is out of order to the filenames because I bundled my recolors, but the pot's textures are a blend of Sunni's originals over some pottery-useful walls: Boggy's Daub White and Brown, Windkeeper's Tavern 8 and Dirty, Wood for Sims Winery 2, 9, and 12, Felicitations Pirate Bay Redux Plain White, Trader's Mustard Masonry Plain, Sandy, Grunge, and Gray, and Sunni's Yellow Plaster. Shown with the default recolor of the contents, but I think an invisible recolor is bundled in with the mesh.

Your contents for the Cauldron Stove include boiling water, pease porridge (actually zucchini soup, pease porridge is paler but I wanted that green), grain pottage (of some kind), and-- because this cauldron is HUGE, a nifty image of the Kepler Nebula (why did I label it supernova on the swatch), in case your kitchen witches need to cook up something special. Stick it over a deco fire with Move_objects On and go to town.

Only the original mesh is included. If you have Sun & Moon's Forging On metalsmithing set, discard the mesh and just install the recolors.

The Pot Stove, being all metal, would be considerably higher-class than the earthenware Cauldron Stove. It's not what I'd call inaccurate, but it's certainly later in the period, and more likely to belong in the kitchen of someone who pays someone else to do their cooking for them.

... A single family who pays someone to do their cooking for them. Unlike the Cauldron Stove, you can't make enough pottage to feed the whole barracks in this little pot-- but instead of everything hiding on the inside, your Sims' cooking pots are hidden by the contents, and anything they put in the oven sits on the rack underneath.

I did a lot of photoshoppery nonsense to keep the details of the original texture before slapping it over half of Sunni's Wizard's Tower Metals; I am not exactly sure of the safety of cooking in anything but Cast Iron, personally (copper really ought to have the insides tinned so you don't risk, you know, verdigris poisoning) but Bright and Rusty pass for steel and who am I to say you don't need a brass cooking pot? Or a gold one! It could be gold.

Once again, I believe the invisible recolor is bundled with the mesh. This time, as well as boiling water, pease porridge, grain pottage, and SPAAAAAAACE, you also get brown gravy. ... Which I could have added to the Cauldron Pot but that... seemed like a LOT of gravy. So does this, but it might be a 'feast' amount of gravy.

The Spit Stove is probably my favorite of the three; your Sims cook on the side with the open pot, and balance their oven-baked foods on that crossbar at the bottom (tricky, but it works okay). Once again I think the invisible recolor is bundled with the mesh, but... there are two versions of this stove. Sunni's original version does not and cannot look like this; it has two subsets, the metal and the pot contents. The updated mesh, which is part of Sun & Moon's Forging On metalsmithing system, also has two subsets-- the metal, and the pot contents AND meat.

If you try to use the regular textures on the Sun & Moon spit stove, your meats will be pease-porridge-green or boiling-water colored. If you try to use the Sun & Moon recolors on the original Spit Stove, you will see the whole texture in your pot and your meats will look fine, because they're not recolorable. Get the right version for your needs.

AS PER THE SUN & MOON POLICY: No mesh is included with the Sun & Moon version, and someday I hope to get my shit together enough to log back into the Keep and post it properly to the member recolors subsection. (Frac, if you see this and wanna do it on my behalf, go ahead! My shit hasn't been properly together in a good twenty years.) I'm only posting it here at all because I was working on these stoves when Forging On was originally released and had myself a Moment when I couldn't find the Spit Stove (because originally Forging On hid it), and had another one when the meats were nebula-colored.

Sunni's Wizard's Tower Metals-- half of them-- on the Spit Stove! Shown with roasting meats as you'd see on the original version. ... You know, looking at the in-situ pic, I think I used Galvanized there, and I think being indoors did it a lot of favors. Sunlight is unforgiving... but that's why it's good for swatches. Behold all my flaws.

... I legit think these are accidentally identical screenshots. How did I. Why did I. ANYWAY, once again you get boiling water, pease porridge, grain pottage, the Kepler nebula (it's supernova again, isn't it, I just copypasted, didn't I) and brown gravy.

Remember, two versions! Only with Sun & Moon can you make your meats invisible! With the original version (which is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SUN & MOON'S FORGING ON), your meats will always be visible.

And who doesn't need nebula soup from time to time? Do you need someone to post your stuff to the Keep? Frac's taken a step back from running the site, and there's a council of us now, including myself. Don't know if you missed the March "excitement". Anyway, PM me there or on Dreamwidth at the Acme Catalog: https://the-acme-catalog.dreamwidth.org/ --rugrat0ne
