So you know how the Exerto Punching Bag is the career reward for the Athletic career, right? And Honeywell made a simple hanging bag that's texture-referenced to the career reward?
I didn't get any pics of the Career Reward version, because... I didn't, but hey! This is a pretty simple download, generally speaking.
It's also part of Buy Mode Blitz-- meaning that of course I recolored this poor punching bag to within an inch of its life, to encourage me to use it more.
The punching bag(s) comes in 82 Pooklet Project Mayhem natural, Aelia Autumn, and CuriousB Any Color You Like actions applied over an edited, smoothed-over version of the original leather bag. I kept the original brass nuts, and after a lot of thought I kept the stand metal, but removed any labels and darkened it up to resemble iron rather than steel. (I seriously considered wood, because metal would've been pretty hilariously expensive, but it also would've held the bag up better without toppling or bowing, and I feel like, as a career reward, the expense of iron is easier to excuse. Also the bag and frame are all one subset, so I'd have to decide whether to make color pairings or just make all the wood Safety Fuse.)
As is often the case on textures without a lot of contrast or shading, the truest blacks (Jet, Dynamite, and Flash Powder) are kinda samey-- not totally identical but kinda samey-- and some of the non-Pooklet dark browns flatten the subtle texture of pixel leather a little. But hey, better you have the chance to choose between soft black, black-black, and blue-black for yourself even if you can only see a real difference when they're all next to each other, or you need all the browns and neutral tones because your pixel tanners aren't wasting dyed leather on something that's just going to get punched and kicked.
This is really not a historical item by any stretch of the imagination-- at least not until boxing became a thing, so if your game is post Marquis of Queensbury, maybe!-- but it's not a hilariously improbable object, my athletic/knightly Sims can't JUST beat up on each other all the time, and my Hobbies/Exercise section is pretty bare in terms of meshes, so the meshes I do have all need all the colors.
And if anybody out there wants to use my bag colors with different frame colors, like the original steel or maybe figuring out how to make wood look believable, grab my Bits PSD and go wild. If you want it, at least ten other people want it, too.
