HAIR DUMP XIV: A Hair Dump Story, Part Two (Gents)

Behind the cut lurk NUMBER hairs for your downloading pleasure.

Since there are a zillion downloads inside the cut, the boilerplate goes outside the cut, so...

NO PAYSITES. Mesh creators' policies may vary, my policy says I want a cut (like that would ever happen), but Pooklet says no and these are Pooklet's actions. So no paysites.

HEY LISTEN! Meshes are included unless otherwise noted. Swatches are included in the zip files, everything is compressorized. Poly counts may vary; MAKE NOTES. Elders go gray, but you also get Time Bomb in the custom bin, just in case Primer isn't platinum enough for you. All female hairs are maternity-wear enabled from teen and up, and all male hairs from YA and up, to stop the weird hair disappearing act that happens if you don't have a Pregnant Sims Wear Any Outfit hack (but why wouldn't you?).

ANNOYING THINGS I DO: Because I credit everybody in them, my folder and file names are stupidly long. Feel free to shorten one, the other, or both as you please-- better you edit them to suit your needs than I just name everything [COLOR NAME] and cheese everybody off, right? Also, each hair color has an elder gray attached instead of only black. Feel free to re-bin everything and cut out the extra grays, or only use one family but swap out textures so your elders have some variety, whatever. Likewise, I bin using Pooklet's original scheme, because it's a nice easy default. I totally do not care if you re-bin things to suit your own tastes (but hey, every hair has a gray attached in case you need it!), and neither does Pooklet, so do whatever makes you happy, binning-wise.

In case you feel like dropping me a buck or two, should you have a buck or two to spare. Donors get two things at the moment: a) a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery, full of pictures of the cats you'll be feeding, updated sporadically when the cats do something photogenic and I'm fast enough on the trigger to catch it, and b) a link to the list of content I have done-but-not-screencapped, nearly done, partly done, or in the planning stages, and the option to suggest what ought to be in the next batch of things I focus on.

Yes, if you want to do the unnaturals, please feel free to do the unnaturals. I have no plans to do so. Just remember to credit properly-- I tend to use Nouk's waves, FR's braid, and a chunk of curve I stole off Ja's Uni ponytail default.

I've been doing the new thing where I'm doing that thing where you sorta bin Time Bomb hairs-- they're still in the Custom bin, but at least in this hair dump, if your Time-Bomb-haired Sim has a kid with their hair color, it won't just be the parent's particular hairstyle!

This hair was a particular nightmare to retexture. I wanted a nice, shiny hair, but I could only really do anything with the straight-ish bits-- every individual bump on most of the braids is mapped... as a little blob of texture. Not as a whole braid.

This one has a weird lighting issue in Body Shop that I can't show you in a still picture-- you have to turn it. It seems fine in-game, though. Also, the mapping on this one.

Ooof I aged up one of my created-as-a-teenager Sims and okay you could cut glass with his cheekbones from certain unflattering angles but generally: Damn son. Ahem. Yes you could texture-reference this to the original Nouk Side Braid I Pooklet'd for ladies. Please be advised, the braid itself wasn't exactly optimized for chests without boobs. The cowl on the Robin Hood tunic sticks out a LOT.

I noticed a while ago when I went to download from your older hair dumps that all your old pic links are broken! If you get a chance to fix them, I know I would really appreciate it.

Replacing the pics is a work just barely in progress; I do have an imagur account now, but my organizational system for storing my hair dump pics on my computer leaves, uh, leaves something to be desired as far as 'oh no I need to re-upload these all at once' goes. All but the oldest hairs should have swatches and turnarounds in the upload file, and the images are still hosted on Photobucket; if you're on a browser like Firefox, you can get a photobucket embed fix that should let you see the images just fine.

Yeah, I'm on Chrome and the embed fix seems to be a bit iffy for me. It works perfectly for some pics but not for any of yours, for some reason. Yours aren't the only ones but I haven't been able to figure out what the common denominator is with the ones that won't work.

But anyway, thank you, I'm happy to know the swatches are in the zips! That will be super helpful.

That's so weird. Chrome is an unfamiliar beast to me, but. So weird.

With any luck I'll have all my photos replaced before June, but there's a lot to plow through and hair dumps are likely to be last on the list. Until then? Swatches in the zips!
