I want to make a double apron (also called a midwife's apron). But I am conflicted! See, I just completed some top-only kirtles to be worn with bottom-only gowns (well. Nearly completed, I need to replace textures with fresh pngs Body Shop hasn't eaten, and slave ages together) and I'm torn.
Floor-length bottom-only aprons in this style (that won't really be compatible with the top-only shifts and placket shifts I've made, but like Sims in horrifying separates combos is new or unusual) on Cynnix's bottom-only trained gown...
OR
Mid-calf full-body-outfit aprons in this style on I'm not sure what mesh-- the Frigg dress,] maybe, I've got a child conversion for that (and it would work just as well for a floor-length apron), or the old Dark Project layered dress, which has good skirt dimension but I hate the sleeves. (Not a fan of the tight top but that's an issue with separates, too.)
Pros for a bottom-only apron, I'd only feel like I had to do eight linen colors (... maybe also dirty/bloody recolors. It's a midwife's apron). Cons, the skirt mesh I like for that big massive apron has Maxis heeled shoes. (Potential solutions, use a different skirt, or work out how to make a heeled mesh look like wooden pattens.)
Pros for a full-outfit apron, I can guarantee a loose-fitting torso on the Frigg dress, and show more color of the dress underneath since I don't have to go all the way to the hem, whether or not I use the layered dress. Also, could make for interesting maid/Uni cook/BV housekeeper defaults. Cons, I'd feel like I had to do all 82 colors I work with to go under the linen; also there are those sleeves on the layered dress.

Date: 2015-03-06 10:44 pm (UTC)Took me ages to find things in Body Shop, because of course I fired it up when I was tired and scoured my entire Casual categories... before remembering the important part: this is a separate bottom, not a full-body outfit.
Thank you so, so much for all this!
EDIT: Okay, so I finally got in-game again, and while the clipping while walking is gone on AF (still need to make a teenager walk around, I did notice some weird flickering. here and here. Front and back, both ages, right at the crotch. I don't know what could be causing that. That and a little bit of TF clipping around the collarbones seem to be the only issues!
I'm so sorry this idea is being such a bear.
EDIT 2: TF clipping at the ankles here (sorry for the weird photo quality, it's nighttime in that house so I had to crank up the brightness in Photoshop). Not as bad as the original AF clipping, but it does seem to be in similar places.

Date: 2015-03-07 10:35 pm (UTC)I didn't notice before- this mesh is on 17. place in your wishlist
I notice something annoying-teen top mesh has differently sized breasts across the morphs(generally preg and normal morphs have same sized beasts)and this cause hell of a clipping mess with fat+preg morphs plus floating with normal preg morphs. The solution would be fixing the top but it's not my mesh.Hope creator won't mind if i include fixed mesh .
And only "one of those" animations is relaxing on bed - gives you some clipping
Although i managed to fix teen ankle and collarbone clipping

Date: 2015-03-08 09:42 pm (UTC)About the pregmorph breasts, I'm pretty sure Cynnix based her morphs on an untuckable top by I want to say M, who based it on the default meshes in InTeen-- it might be simpler to adjust the bottom to fit the top than adjust one top and hope nobody ever uses any of the other ones. I can see if I still have the original TF untuckable top around somewhere, it doesn't have any sleeves, just smooth arms. (I should have it, I never throw anything out.)
Relaxing on the bed in a big skirt always makes for some clipping. The ankle and collarbone clipping is much more important.
