Sorry I missed my annual last-possible-day-for-Christmas-gifts day... but I didn't miss it by much, at least?

Simming has taken a back seat to reality for a few months; I'd like to thank everyone who donated back in October and November while my cat was so sick. It took a massive load off my mind, and I'm deeply grateful. Harley has small-cell lymphoma, which is not GREAT news, but it's treatable. She's currently getting steroids every day and chemo three times a week, and being pretty hit-or-miss about whether or not she'll let me shove pills in her face. Aside from the cancer, Harley is in rude good health, running around all active and playful and affectionate and impressing the vet techs by being willing to walk on a leash, and basically making me rethink my idea of 'cat about to turn fourteen.' We may or may not beat the lymphoma into remission, but if she makes it to fifteen? That's a good long life for a cat. Short version is, Harley is doing really well.

And now that she's out of the woods and holiday guests are back in their own homes, I'm free to let the housework slide and play Sims... oh, until about the end of the month. My sister's having a baby, and Weird Auntie Hat accepts her role as babysitter.

Oh, also, I'm aware there may be problems with some of my older hairs. I submitted a counter-claim to Mediafire today; this time it's someone claiming to be from Funimation rather than CBS who suspects I've got episodes buried in my pixel-hair.

Thank you for thinking of us! Harley has rallied really well, it's a huge relief. The last time she even had a bad day was when we had a gap between 'ran out of steroids' and 'fresh supply arrived in mail.'

Heeeeey! :) I'm doin'. Have some gender stuff that's been a headache to deal with, and have had my brain eaten by Dragon Age: Inquisition. So, on the balance: Eh. But things are, hopefully, working out.

I can understand gender stuff being a headache, my sympathies. Here's hoping the headache lessens (if you ever want to vent at someone, you can put my name on a list of people available to vent to).

Everyone I've seen who has any interest in Dragon Age: Inquisition has had their brain eaten by it, so that does seem to be a feature.

(one of my cats had lymphoma: was diagnosed at 15 and after an initial really-not-going-well phase, where the vet thought she'd probably only last 1-2 months, managed to rally and hung on until shortly before she turned 18)

Apparently small cell lymphoma is highly treatable in cats! They respond to chemotherapy better than humans do, even. Did your cat have trouble with certain foods, or certain food textures?

She's doing really well, and thank you again for spreading the word about her. (We just played a round of Stair Ball, a game where I stand at the bottom of the carpeted stairs, gently lob a kitty ball close to the top, and Harley attacks the hell out of it as it bounces down the stairs. Excellent way to wear out an active cat if you've got carpeted stairs.)

Harley says 'MROW' which I actually think is 'get off the internet and toss things for my amusement, lady!' but it could be a 'thank you, I'm trying! I don't have to ride in the carrier on my next car trip!'

It is super-annoying but also hilarious. My top two guesses are a) troll b) Some Intern has to prove to their boss that he's doing SOMETHING so they file erroneous infringement reports hoping something'll stick. I'm not even mad, just mildly annoyed.

I'm glad that Harley is doing well and hopefully getting better!

My cat has just had multiple trips to the vet (along with a hilarious episode where mum forgot to open the cat cage before getting the cat and involved the neighbours having to help corral her XD) for a tumour on her tail, but they think it's benign fortunately, or at least slow growing, so we just have to keep an eye on it.

She's gained some weight (which worries me cos she's always been a lean kitty under her floof, but the vet is happy to see it), and at her last appointment on Monday, she aced her blood tests and the vet says she doesn't have to come back in until May unless there's a change or problem.

How does your cat like harnesses? I've been using one on Harley in the car instead of keeping her in her carrier for the ride, and while the ride is still stressful, it's less stressful than when she feels trapped in the box. (Still bring her into the vet in the carrier, however. You never know how the other critters in the waiting room will behave.)

I hope your cat's doing well! One of my dad's dogs had a benign mammary tumor, pretty much all you can do if you don't want to resort to surgery is keep an eye on them.
