State of the Hat: Not Dead

This is a notice to all and sundry that I am not dead, have not been abducted by aliens, and am in fact 100% okay.

Except that I saw Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier and my feels have been victimized by Sebastian Stan's face. Creativity has been unceremoniously sucked into writing fanfiction rather than anything remotely productive. (Thanks, Marvel Studios, for the eight-week breather between CA2: Sebastian Stan's Face and Amazing Spider-Man 2: Oh Shit Is That The Sinister Six.)

Hello my name is Hat and I am a nerd for more than just history.

I should loop back around to Sims before too long, my obsessiveness over hobbies always seems to go in cycles.

No worries! It's natural for hobbies to cycle, and for things to get busy (and "productive" is such a fickle word! The way I see it, if it makes you feel good, it should count as "productive". Keeping up self-morale isn't any less important than any other aspect of life--hell, it's more important, because what's the point of all the rest of it if there's no enjoyment there?).

Looking forward to seeing what Sims stuff you produce whenever you get back to Sims stuff, but in the mean time, enjoy what you're doing now and don't worry too much about the people on the other side of the internet. :)

Fanfic is a weird area for me in terms of 'yes this feels like a solid creative endeavor!' because I used to post things SO rarely. Since last October, though, I've written half a novel's worth of stuff and posted most of it. It does feel really good to get what I've written out there where people can see it.

Soon! I do still have all my Sims 2 plans and I WILL finish clothes for everyone. (I just like letting people know I'm okay. There are a few folks out there who I know worry about that sort of thing.)

I hope you like what you read! I'm... proudest of the massive Aladdin AU, myself, but out of the three new MCU ones? I had the most fun with Pay It Forward. Tabula Rasa was the one that had to get out of me after the movie, and With Anyone Else But Me landed on my head in a flurry of feels, and I couldn't have that many feels without making the largest possible number of other folks ALSO have feels.

(PS I am also on Dreamwidth as hat_writes_stuff, but I like AO3's kudos system a lot. It's like pushing the Thanks button over on MTS.)

I'm very familiar with hobby cycles... at the moment I'm trying to finish Assassin's Creed 2. I haven't hobby cycled to The Sims 2 for ages now though.
