Smoke Bomb (A Long-Awaited Photoshop Action)

Here's a short little upload, if I've done it right...



Smoke Bomb (basically a layer of Time Bomb set to Multiply over a layer of Mail Bomb) has been my go-to Family Two homebrew gray for AGES, because I like having four colors in every bin for each hair. It's nice. I made it with Photoshop 6 (no CS or anything, just 6), so it should work from at least Photoshop 6 on up-- ideally if you can run the rest of Project Mayhem, you should be able to run Smoke Bomb.

Grab it here on Mediafire or here on Sims File Share, all unzipped and totally without policy, because the policy is Pooklet's policy. This is effectively just an expansion of Pooklet's work, using Pooklet's work, so don't do anything with Smoke Bomb that you're not allowed to do with the rest of Project Mayhem.

In case you feel like dropping me a buck or two, should you have a buck or two to spare. Donors get two things at the moment: a) a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery, full of pictures of the cats you'll be feeding, updated sporadically when the cats do something photogenic and I'm fast enough on the trigger to catch it, and b) a link to the list of content I have done-but-not-screencapped, nearly done, partly done, or in the planning stages, and the option to suggest what ought to be in the next batch of things I focus on.

I made the danged action cos I was sick of doing it manually, too. *grins* It does take a little longer to undo than most Pooklet actions, because it's essentially two actions taped together, but it's not so long that it WON'T undo.

I don't typically use Smokebomb to keep my colors in control but this is a handy action for when I need to, thanks hat! :)

You're welcome! I know plenty of folks out there restrict themselves to Mail Bomb and Pipe Bomb for their grays, but gosh I needed a fourth. And it looks pretty good on metals! Smoke Bombed wood looks a little dry for my tastes, but the contrasty highs and lows can give fabric a nice silver-velvet look if it's got the right amount of noise.
