I have been learning a lot and because I love learning, I want to share it. (Although I will say, if you are a history nerd who happens to be white, be prepared to be deeply disappointed in the way you were taught history. ... Well, more disappointed.)

Been following that blog from its inception - it really is great.

There's half of me going "Why didn't they TEACH this?" but there's another half of me going "You went to public school in California twenty-ish years ago, and one of your history teachers thought Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was highly educational," and I remember that very little of what I learned in school has been practical real-world knowledge. (Dear school districts: I am a small businessperson and the most advanced math I do is multiplication. You told me lots and lots and lots of lies.)

But it still would've been amazing to know about the black Queen of England and the black Madonnas and Guilia de (di?) Medici and oh my GOD I wish someone had told me when I was a teenager that progress hasn't been a straight line from 'caveman' to 'now.'

It's a great blog. Its existence makes me happy.
