hat_plays_simsI really wanted to get more done for this month's GoS challenge, but between briefly coming down sick (I'm okay!), some interpersonal drama, and hitting a major snag with a good 50% of what I WANTED to upload this month... Well, I'm squeaking in under the wire and the stuff I couldn't finish will have to come later. Without further ado, the stuff that got done!
One of the things Medieval Sims (of both sexes and all ages) lack utterly is underwear. And swimwear. And sleepwear. There's just plain nowhere near enough of it, and I promised myself I'd get underwear done for everyone before I was allowed to do any more non-underwear stuff. The variations you get in this upload are:
Short Smocks with bare feet, CF through EF
Slim Shifts with bare feet, CF through EF, for three body shapes
Loose Shifts with bare feet, CF through EF
Braises with non-flattening breast bindings, TF through EF
Braises with Tuttensacks after the Lengberg finds, TF through EF
Everything comes in eight colors, arranged from lightest to darkest in the catalog: Pooklet's Time Bomb, CuriousB's ACYL Milk, Aelia's Eco Ecru, CuriousB's ACYL Oyster, Aelia's Eco Vanilla, Pooklet's Primer, Aelia's Eco Beige, and Pooklet's Grenade. These're my standard linen shades from now on, because I feel like they REALLY progress well from 'new and bleached' through 'washed a million times, left in the sun long enough to yellow' all the way down to 'are you sure it's clean?'
I used Aquilegia's linen texture on everything. And I plan to use these as under-layers for future dresses (and separates).
So let's look at a few pictures.
And the same setup from the other side. Elder Samantha Ottomas is wearing the YA-EF breast bindings, teen Sharla is wearing the tuttensack, and Twin Whose Name I Forget is wearing the girls' short smock.
Yeah, no reverse here, sorry. Anyway, Samantha and the CF Twin are both wearing the Slim Shift, while Sharla is wearing the Loose Shift.
Let's start with the skimpiest stuff and work outward, shall we?

Breast bindings are on Cynnix's Roman Bikini mesh, which is included; they have Bloom's sexyfeet cos that's what I use. I smushed around FantasyRogue's braises textures and Alix's breast binding textures until everything fit nice and neat. The bindings here wouldn't have been meant to flatten the bust, but to either support it like a sports bra or smush it together for the sake of epic Medieval cleavage. Both were regularly done. Both meshes have pregmorphs, and since there's no EF mesh available (and my elders use AF stuff to save space), the Adult bindings are enabled for Young Adult through Elder.
Tuttensacks are on a basegame underwear mesh; no mesh is needed and you'll only get sexyfeet (or teen pregmorphs) if you have defaults installed. Again I used FantasyRogue's braises, but I also nicked Sherahbim's spiral lacing texture for the side. I'm not actually sure if 'tuttensack' is the right word for this particular garment, but it is distinctive modeled after the most intact Lengberg bra. A Maxis bra was cut all to pieces to provide these textures.
These are categorized as Underwear and Swimwear, because you wouldn't want to sleep in something so restrictive, right? They aren't texture-referenced, but could easily be.

The short smocks use three different meshes: Kalynn's Simple Shift with Sexyfeet added by Silvain for children, which is included, the basegame NiteShirt for teens, and the basegame AF Nightgown for adults and elders. (Default replacement meshes with pregmorphs and sexyfeet for AF and TF are included, but optional.) There WILL, someday, be versions of these in blockfoot with cute little knee-high stockings and garters, but because of an alpha issue I only noticed in-game, that day is not today. Texture credits include Sherahbim for the TF and AF versions and Kalynn for CF. (Yes, these are all Time Bomb. Time Bomb sometimes varies a little.)
These are categorized as underwear, sleepwear, and swimwear. They can't be texture-referenced, alas, because everybody's everything is mapped differently.

These are my slim shifts, and they're on what I think of as the Liana Mashup Mesh. This is an excellent mesh. I love it, and I thank Liana for the mesh, Needlecream for the sexyfeet, and Cynnix for making it so the underside of the dress didn't overlap with the feet and adding morphs. Textures are ZoeJ (on the neckline, though I extended it to make a believable nursing slit) and Aquilegia everywhere else. Meshes by Cynnix are included in each download.
These are also available for Marvine's Athletic Girl and Cynnix's Warlokk's RenGal v2; although the shape isn't flawless on the RenGal, the fabric at least pulls over the bust realistically. Again, adult clothes are enabled for elders. These could be texture-referenced, easily. These are enabled for underwear and sleepwear, because you wouldn't want to swim in something that could tangle around your legs.

The inimitable Cynnix was kind enough to put a simple straight sleeve and sexyfeet and morphs on Amaryll's Strapdress for me. Cynnix is my favorite person ever. I futzed with the necklin so it looked like something that could be pulled over the head, and from there this is mostly Io's peasanty dress textures smushed around to remove breast shading. (For maximum texture-referencing compatibility, none of the smocks or shifts have breast shading. Now I just need them in a bunch of bodyshapes.) Admittedly, a belt around an underdress is a little unusual, but everything else is perfect so I don't really care. Elders use adult meshes, and all meshes are included.
The loose shift is categorized as underwear and sleepwear, again because you wouldn't deliberately go swimming in something that'd cling to your legs and make it hard to kick. These aren't texture-referenced, but could be.

Donors get two things at the moment: a) a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery, full of pictures of the cats you'll be feeding, updated sporadically when the cats do something photogenic and I'm fast enough on the trigger to catch it, and b) a link to the list of content I have done-but-not-screencapped, nearly done, partly done, or in the planning stages, and the option to suggest what ought to be in the next batch of things I focus on.
