And... Back.
Jul. 14th, 2012 10:52 amOkay, so that took a lot longer than the few weeks I thought it would, but I've been in Lurker Mode for a long time. Lots has happened out in, you know, non-internet reality (including a kitchen remodel that Mom and I have been wanting for ten years, guys, do not remodel your kitchen if you aren't absolutely positive you have other places to put all the stuff that goes into your kitchen for at least a month, and also plenty of food that can just go straight from the fridge to your mouth), but this is a Simming blog and you guys deserve Simming posts. And boy oh boy, do I have Simming posts for you. I didn't actually stop CREATING while I was on hiatus, I just sort of stopped keeping up with... lots and lots of things. And in the last week or two, I finally started posting them-- I just decided to keep the posts private until I'd uploaded everything I had ready to go. If you don't want to scroll through my DW, you can just click these handy dandy links:
1. Hair Dump X Part One: The Franchise Reboot, Part Two: Hair Dump From the Black-And-Blue Lagoon, and Part Three: Nobody Expects the HAT Dump!
2. Sign of the Plumb Bob (Nichellerj's Plumb Bob Necklace with way too many recolors)
3. I Feel The Earth Move (selected Yuxi Oblivion, Druid Wow, and Kativip MS and LS floors as terrain paints)
4. The King Is In His Counting-House (Non-depreciating face-value coins on Worship4ever meshes)
5. Du Lac Cotehardies and Tunics (TF-EF recolors of Cynnix's Laced-Sleeve Gown and TM-EF recolors of Cynnix and Oph3lia's edits of Aligeth's Robin Hood Tunic)
6. Never Enough Thatch (Bon Voyage Thatched Roofs in select Project Mayhem and Any Color You Like actions)
7. Through A Glass Darkly (Medieval leaded recolors of Mustluvcats's Privacy Film)
8. Hangerock (twelve very simple Viking apron dresses on a Trapping mesh)
9. Invoking the Spirit (Bonehilda-as-Spectral-Assistant defaults (with
faechangeling), Bonehilda outfits, and K8's Fairy Witch gown EA'd)
10. Le Chausseur, la Deuxième Partie (Chausses and braises for Aquilegia's Androgyny, Aquilegia's Improved Fatmorph, FantasyRogue's bottom-only chausses, and Cynnix's age conversions of FR's bottom-only chausses.)
11. Bonne Nuit (A dozen chemises with ZoeJ textures)
12. The Modest Lady (Sherahbim's Lady gown simplified a bit)
So there's that.
I will also still be in lurker mode for a while in terms of the general Simming community-- I do love and I have missed the social aspect of Sims 2, but it's actually pretty daunting to say 'today I will start keeping up with everything!' I will be trying to keep up with comments and private messages here a lot better, and I still have a lot left on my to-do list, so it should be a lot easier to get in touch with me. (I do not promise prompt replies, but I promise I will reply. Unless I can't tell you from spammers. There've been a LOT of spambots on my DW lately. Some of them have actually said quite complimentary things, even if they are halfway to incomprehensible.)
Like an idiot, of course, I decided to post this on a day when I'm planning to run errands, but I'm out of ready-to-upload content and I don't want to make you guys wait any longer.
I'm also looking for someone to help me with object creation-- recolorability and indoor shadows in particular. I think I've almost got that buyable-toybox-toys project licked, but the indoor shadows are giving me fits and I'd hate for folks to have to clone a new toy every time the world needs a recolored rocket ship.

Date: 2012-07-15 04:22 am (UTC)I'm glad to see you back in any form- and that you decided to share some goodies was a nice plus, I'll admit. :P
I would offer my assistance, but I'm not all that good at some of the more 'fiddly' areas of creation (and backtrack on stuff I thought I could create).
If nothing else, as long as you're willing to make crazy mega-sets for a pseudo-medieval Sims world, I am.

Date: 2012-07-15 05:13 am (UTC)I'm not a mesher, so creating new objects is... not really my forte. I can remove the indoor shadows, but I can't figure out how to make them work like shadows instead of flat panels of solid black-and-white.
I am always willing to make crazy mega-sets, because I do not know when to stop pushing the 'play action' button in Photoshop.

Date: 2012-07-15 07:55 am (UTC)And with so many goodies too! Dowloadspree ahoy! XD
Mostly I'm just happy to hear from you though. And glad that things seem to be alright.
(I know very well how remodeling and renovations can take over one's life and house. ^^ But as long as you're happy with the results it's soooo worth it, right?)
Have fun with catching up on things!

Date: 2012-07-15 12:32 pm (UTC)Please don't disappear on us again. I've really missed having you around at GoS and PBK.
And of course a huge thank you for all these new sets! I grabbed almost everything, but especially the hat hairs and the BV and CS hairs are what I've really been waiting for.
I'm also really sorry that I basically haven't gotten anywhere with your saint statues. University was a bit of a challenge this year (still is, I'm still working on my thesis) plus resizing statues is not at all difficult but pretty boring and yeah ... it just didn't happen. Although I do have a few that I resized during a particularly boring class that only need the SimPE work done, I think. I'm still planning to do them, I just can't make any promises as to when.

Date: 2012-07-15 05:55 pm (UTC)You should go hit up the CS hairs and the hats again, I fixed my broken links. (I'm not surprised I had broken links. I'm surprised in fourteen posts that I only had three broken links.)
I know the feeling when you can promise things will get done but not when. I've been promising myself I'd finish my heraldry set for, oh, about three years now, and I still need to find a good snake and a good boar. And considering how much of what I make involves a brief period of creativity followed by several hours of clicky-button work that could be done by a robot monkey, I know exactly how 'not at all difficult but pretty boring' goes.
