My photos are back! And thanks to a couple of very kind people who dropped a little money in the tip jar, I splurged and now I have a Pro account for two years. Shouldn't be running out of bandwidth for a WHILE now.

Current projects:
A Live.package mod that's so ridiculously extensive that probably nobody but me would want it
Finally getting to work on those wooden Servos on Amaryll's androgynous mesh
Default replacements for education-based Uni props (diploma, assignment, dorm door no-entry sign) and Dining-and-Dating defaults from Nightlife (five date gifts, the restaurant coupon, some other restaurant... uh, stuff. Note to self; find menu)

I do not promise swiftness, but I'm working on getting the wooden parts of the Servo done tonight, so I can move on to the decorative parts tomorrow.

And because I actually had a book within arm's reach when I saw it...

And just for the hell of it ... granted, there were three books and a Kindle on my desk, so I don't know whether this one is technically "closest" 'cause I didn't get a ruler out, but it wasn't buried under a ton of stuff, so, here goes:

I've seen that meme a ton of times, but never when I could a) judge which book was closest to me or b) had a book handy at all. (Books in the bedroom tend to end up in stacks and rows, hard to choose the closest, and books in the office are reference books kept tucked in a cabinet where I can get to them if I really need a reference book.)

I'm curious to ask: what does the live.package do? I THINK that's the one that change names, isn't it?

It changes names, yes. It also changes most of the user interface text (skill names, need names, text for popups on things like the influence meter), the witch titles (my Sims are things like Dread Sorcerers instead of Atrociously Evil Warlocks, and also a good male witch is a wizard), University professor titles (mine say Professor and Professora instead of just Prof.) , the text for popups on the relationship panels and hobby panels, the aspiration titles (like 'Miracle Mite' and 'Family Rock' and 'Wallflower')... I went a little nuts.

I followed the instructions for the book meme, and was so disappointed. Page 56 is a citation page, so what I got was. "Litchy, Thomas. (1994). Design Principles for Desktop Publishers. New York:"
But I guess that's kind of hilarious, considering what an outdated reference that would be. Desktop Publishing... haven't heard that term in years.
The book in which it was cited is a 2002 book, Working with Words and Images.

Oh, so it's not just me? *grins* When I have a final draft of the thing, I'll release it-- there are a couple of things where I'm not exactly sure where they go.

I'm always interested in anything you post, I'm sure I'd be glad to have that live.package too! And just for the heck of it, since I had a book right next to me...

Zounds. I never got as far as calculus. I'm impressed!

I'm still poking at the live.package-- I really should go find out if it's cool to upload it as-is, since it uses Carmee Kitty's Medieval townie names, or if I should take those out first. (You can only have one live.package, but you can totally extract and add bits TO your live.package.)
