Ideal Plantsims need regular genetics-- use one of your default Maxis skintones, especially if you're going to share them. (If you're not going to share them, use skintones you're absolutely positive you'll never delete.)

Think of Plantsimism as... an infection, or a rash. It's something that happens to you, and it's a condition you can be 'born' with, but it's curable. Any plantsim skin you see is just an overlay; underneath it, the Sims have normal genetics, so Ideal Plantsims need normal genetics, too. If you've ever seen a semi-transparent or red-eyes-only vampire default, or fur-less werewolves, it's the same thing.

The only life states in Sims 2 that aren't just overlays are aliens, Servos (although that's actually kind of a very special overlay), and Bigfoot. These are, not coincidentally, the only incurable life states.
