Normally on these Buy Mode Blitz items, I have a little page of notes-- research and whatnot, comments, credits, things that occurred to me while I was making the thing that I wanted to share when I posted the thing.

I... do not have one of those files for this. Which is a pity, because dang those make useful little cheat sheets. Particularly since this is a big 'please trust me' post, because a) I hid the original Basegame Kinder Kontainer crib years ago and b) when I unhid it, it turned out I had a mod that texture-referenced it to the regular bedding.

Oh well.

Luckily I do have a fair few custom meshes that reference the basegame crib bedding! Which is what this is, the Kinder Kontainer basegame crib-- the only Maxis crib until FreeTime, because I'm not sure anyone at Maxis over the last three installments of The Sims has ever gone baby shopping-- bedding only, retextured very simply with Magpie's linen, in 20 Pooklet Project Mayhem naturals, 20 Aelia Autumn actions, and 42 CuriousB Any Color You Like actions.

Why do I need so many recolors of this thing? Well!

Behold Oph3lia's edit of the Nini Pupucea canopy crib (referencing the crib bedding, HugeLunatic's Caress of Teak changing table, SDA's Medieval Castle Nursery crib, Darkmoon's Buggy Niche one tile crib, two tile crib, and one-tile changing table, and front-and-center, Bubbles' danglemaster play mat, all in 'whatever popped out of the catalog first' and either Autumn Teal or ACYL Kingfisher. (I think it's Kingfisher, though.)

Do I need or use the Kinder Kontainer crib? No. Is the bedding still gosh-darned useful to me? Yes.

I used some of the original shading to ensure I kept that nice little ruffle, which adds some interest on the meshes where it's used, but for the most part I really did want nice smooth woven-fabric textures, the better to work with the wide variety of meshes that use this stuff.

After all, it's not just the acceptably-historical stuff that references the crib bedding, lots of modern things do, too.

And so I can't go 'is this historically accurate,' because that's not the question I'm asking, the question I'm asking is 'how many places can I use this?' And the answer in my game is 'seven, right now, and maybe more later.'

In case you feel like dropping me a buck or two, should you have a buck or two to spare. I don't do pay content and I can't seem to get requests done in a timely fashion, so donors get a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery (you help feed my cats, you get to see lots and lots of pictures of my cats) and my to-do list Google doc, in case there's anything on there that makes a donor go 'oooh, when are you working on that one?'
