Baby clothes! They work for everybody if they're townie-enabled, but what if you actually installed the entire Chris Hatch Plan Baby Outfit mod? (Courtesy copy of that here, by the way, Mr. Hatch encourages sharing.) Find it in General/Misc for $2500, but only on community lots.

Well, then you need the Functional Baby Clothes Rack, of course!

Buy Mode Blitz: Where you get it because I need it!

So the original rack is... brightly-colored. And the clothes have Pooh characters on them. Nothing against Piglet, but in my game, he hasn't been invented yet. So clearly I needed to make some changes. True, I could have swapped out a mesh (there's one of SUnni's in the title card and I was tempted) but instead I stuck to my recolorist guns.

Naturally I reversed this, but! Baby clothes in the eight Pooklet, CuriousB, and Aelia actions I have dubbed my Eight Linens pallette (darkest to lightest, Project Mayhem Grenade, Eco Beige, PM Primer, Eco Vanilla, Any Color You Like Oyster, Eco Ecru, ACYL Milk, and PM Time Bomb). Some of these baby clothes are clearly secondhand; wet linen bleaches in the sunlight but dry linen yellows. So maybe the darker colors are for a secondhand shop?

But as well as 'all these clothes are exactly the same,' I did combo packs!

One rack with Primer, Beige, and Grenade baby clothes, one with Oyster, Vanilla, and Primer, and one with Time Bomb, Milk, and Ecru. Just so things aren't as samey.

If you choose to include the CJH_BabyClothesRack_DEFAULTsubtle.package, instead of a bright yellow base and top bar, bright pink supports, and teal hangers? You get pewter-y hangers and a nice subtle brown rack. Believe me, I would've gone with a recolor option if I could've, but it was all in TXMTs.

How do you use this object? First grab the mod itself, and then...

You'll find the rack in General/Misc for $2500, but only on community lots. Plop one (or more) in your favorite store and send a Sim shopping. Click on the rack-- there's no browse option and I am so sorry for Titania's face right there.

When the clothing catalog comes up, click a GENDER ICON. That'll bring up your baby clothes. Clicking an AGE icon will instead take you to... well, that age's clothing catalog, and you can't get back to baby clothes. No harm done if you do click an age, just exit and try again.

Is this historically accurate?

Um, no. Historically, baby clothes (like most clothes on up until the latter end of the Industrial Revolution) were made at home, and for the Middle Ages they might also be spun, woven, and dyed at home.

On the other hand, this object makes it possible to buy baby clothes on community lots. So. You know. Get some game function.

Also, yes, eventually, there will be a whole slew of dyed-wool recolors of the clothes, I have the base textures for that done... but figuring out how to do better combos than 'everything on this rack is Pipe Bomb' wasn't happening when I was first working on this project.

Wanna help me feed my cats?

In case you feel like dropping me a buck or two, should you have a buck or two to spare. Donors get two things at the moment: a) a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery, full of pictures of the cats you'll be feeding, updated sporadically when the cats do something photogenic and I'm fast enough on the trigger to catch it, and b) a link to the list of content I have done-but-not-screencapped, nearly done, partly done, or in the planning stages, and the option to suggest what ought to be in the next batch of things I focus on.
