My policy, unless otherwise noted, is 'do whatever you want as long as you credit everyone whose work is involved and don't break their policies.' Usually, someone whose meshes, textures, actions, coding, or templates I've used has 'no paysites' somewhere in their policy, so it's probably a good idea to assume, well, no paysites.

Date: 2016-04-30 06:31 am (UTC)What I like to try to work out for my Religions are the actual working Tenets (capitalizing for clarity!), then the story-driven stuff-- a little about the primary Deity, rules about marriage, and views on assorted Supernaturals.
So, base hood, The Lady might ban everything (she bans everything in the Testing Lands, for testing purposes) but might ban everything but Indiscretion, haven't decided yet. Marriage is for keeping track of bloodlines, and there are certain circumstances under which divorce or annulment must be granted if it's sought. Changelings (aliens, but you know that), plantsims, and servos are welcomed by the Lady's Church, although there's some leeriness toward werewolves, zombies, and vampires.
The Mother Goddess only bans Indiscretion and Disrespect. She's all about nature and passion, so marriage isn't a requirement and isn't about politics or breeding or advantages-- it's always about love, affection, or passion. But because marriage isn't a requirement for sex, one party or the other (or both) must've wronged the other party to divorce. Again they're leery of vampires and zombies, but are positive to cautiously optimistic about every other life state.
The Allfather bans Theft, Indiscretion and Disrespect (but allows Wrath and Violence because you've got to have some way to retaliate when someone disrespects you). He's not the creator-figure of his faith (that's a triple goddess), just the chief administrator. The Allfather allows no-fault divorces, so that faith is pretty hard on infidelity. Plantsims have a story-driven reputation for pranks, and Bigfoot isn't regarded as quite a full person-- and I might include wariness about vampires because of the cold-climate terror of cannibalism-- but mostly other life-states are regarded respectfully. Zombies in particular are believed to have magical powers.
The Sun-Goddess only bans Violence. They're not reeeeally big on the whole 'marriage' thing-- it tends to happen more when a ruler wants to designate someone as an official co-ruler. I haven't decided if divorce isn't a thing because marriage is so rare, or if divorce isn't a BIG thing because marriage is so rare. Vampires and werewolves aren't super-favorites because they spread their afflictions through violence, and honestly the tropics aren't the best place for Bigfoot (pelt!) or zombies (decay), either. No problems with them, really, just vague concern for them.
The Work-In-Progress Far Eastern Deity only allows violence, demanding good manners, thoughtful behavior, and at least the outward appearance of calm. Marriages are supposed to be advantageous to both parties somehow (which is easy with lower classes; children to help do work are advantages), and divorce is allowed but requires a very good reason. Only werewolves, zombies, and Bigfoot are frowned on, because they're wild or untidy or both.
The Cult of the Reaper mostly follows the Lady's ways but also allows Theft (because of the taking of things). They mostly just view the Reaper as a hardworking guy with a job to do and a bad reputation, although they do attract the occasional Olive Specter type. A Place of Worship dedicated to the Reaper must be sanctified with a death on the lot, drawing the Reaper to visit, and the urnstone stays there. The Cult of the Reaper respects and accepts all life-states, but you generally have to know someone in the Cult to know the Cult is even a thing.
Things might change as I keep worldbuilding, or as I play, and the life-state-leeriness is usually about who can take vows in that order rather than who counts as a monster. (SOMEbody's going to have the young Ms. Marvel philosophy of "Good isn't a thing you are, it's a thing you do." 'Evil' and 'monster' work the same way.) There is a little bit of need for some Reg Shoe style activism, but I make up for that in other ways, and it usually leans toward the 'okay but if you're immortal there's no way we can make you afraid of what happens after death' across the board. (Except in the northlands, because draugr.)
