hat_plays_sims: All I did was crop-- go read Bite Me by Dylan Meconis, you'll laugh. (Default)
The basic bodyshape is up in the first GoS Advent, I think. Her post has showerproof skintones, mine has the Tig tunic she made me. I can't imagine she'd be disappointed to come back from her injury-hiatus to find out there were more clothes for her guy.

Cynnix has one in the pipeline that sounds promising; she's calling it Valkyrie and it's sort of a She-Hulk kind of shape. The only part that sounds awkward to me are the comic-book breasts, but if those got scaled down, you could make another shape and call it Shieldmaiden and it'd be perfect. *grins* Sometimes I don't mind a little clipping-- like thighs on a heavy shape or the interior arm muscles on a bodybuilder, but there's only so broad you can make the shoulders before the Sim heads start looking like... like the knob on top of the neck you're supposed to attach the real head to. And I don't know if you can actually make the shoulders much narrower or if that would be a bone assignment nightmare... but I think you can change the slope and shape of them, so the ladies don't have such a 1980s square shoulderpad look.

I can see how the magnets would be useful for some things, but I got the feeling they were all based on the nude shape. You'd have to have a separate set of them for clothing meshes, and even then you'd always have to make adjustments.

I thought I'd seen most of those meshes made elsewhere. I guess I thought she was using other creators' stuff. And I hope you feel better! My back decided it was time for me to spend three days sitting very very still; I still twinge but I think I'm finally fully mobile again.

Maybe some leather armor would work for firemen. Scale armor would be easy to retexture. And of course, plenty of padding over the arms and legs, to insulate. They don't necessarily need to take a hit, firemen, they just need to look protected from the heat.

Are the teen cheerleader and llama outfits connected to the YA ones? I thought they were basegame. Although there's some defaulting method that doesn't default everything on the same mesh, but that's deep magic that I don't understand. And I like seeing my Sims change for work, but not into the Maxis stuff... and finding default replacement outfits that're up to my now-insane standards is a frickin' nightmare.

Heraldry is fun but it can eat your brains.
