And that's a fair point about arranged marriages, but it's still... I would like to have one Disney princess who demonstrates knowledge that she is intrinsically involved in the political process. In her movie, not in her animated series (Jasmine) or in a direct-to-video sequel (Pocahontas). I know it's crazy-stupid of me, that people like to see princesses doing crazy things for love or freedom or love of freedom, but it's never just entertainment, you know? The only Disney future queen I can think of who stands up for her country and/or people and tries to act for the greater good instead of following her heart or trying to simply escape her situation... is Nala. ... Basically I think I want to watch a princess say "I'm not marrying any of them, because I love this kingdom to put one of those dipshits on the throne."

... So, apparently I want a movie about Hatshepsut or Elizabeth I as princesses. *facepalms*

Ahem. More definite time periods for Disney stuffs, you say?

Oh, so that way we still get the juicy story of just exactly who this mysterious Herbert is, too! I like it.
