This blog is file-share friendly but makes every reasonable effort to respect the terms-of-use of free content creators. (This blog also acknowledges that only EA's TOU counts legally. Disregarding another creator's TOU is rude but not illegal.)
My policy, unless otherwise noted, is 'do whatever you want as long as you credit everyone whose work is involved and don't break their policies.' Usually, someone whose meshes, textures, actions, coding, or templates I've used has 'no paysites' somewhere in their policy, so it's probably a good idea to assume, well, no paysites.

Date: 2011-07-01 09:02 pm (UTC)You have to go into C/Program Files/EA Games/[each of your expansions in turn]/Base/TSData/Res/Catalog/Patterns/catpatterns.bundle.package . It'll be the only package in the folder, and it contains all the walls, floors, and (I think) landscapes for that expansion. Open it up in SimPE and transfer the lines for the ones you want to hide into a new package. For each one, change the value of "showincatalog" from "0x00000001" to "0x00000002." Save your new package and stick it in your Downloads folder, and voila!
I just got rid of 574 walls (anything without moldings had to go...). My Build catalog looks so much prettier now.
Cheers!
