I'm so glad you like them! I was aiming for more old-school fairies, only instead of stealing children and leaving changelings behind, these just knock you up. And I heartily recommend Dragonslave's horses! They add a lot to a scene, and Feenwald's posebox adds even more.

As for the questions... the skins you need are included in the mod download, so you don't have to go download anything separately-- I recolored some of Mouseyblue's skins for my PTs, which is why I linked back to her. The skins will show up as custom in your game-- DON'T delete them. They don't replace the default green skin, in part because there are six different skins included with the mod. Any alien offspring you already had before installing this mod, even the unborn ones, will still have their old green skin and black eyes (unless you have default replacements, which you don't have to remove to use this mod). You will not need to remove the Maxis PT-- in fact, you can't, unless you already have a single PT replacement installed. Yes, these guys will show up in your family tree.

When you have a multi-PT mod installed, it takes a whole mess of parts to work-- the mod file itself, the PT files, and any custom content the PTs are using, which is usually limited to skins and eyes. The PT files are basically saved Sim files with a little bit of extra data added, including registered GUID numbers; the mod file itself is what directs the game to one of those GUIDs when an abduction happens instead of to the original PT. Any custom genetics-- skins and eyes-- are needed so that your PTs have the correct genetic information. If you leave out the skins and eyes, what you'll get will be PTs with your S2 default and whatever eyes are painted on that skintone, and any children they spawn will have broken genetics-- that's why you can't download the mod without the genetics. I wanted to be sure everyone got them.
