Colours Of Skins On A Different Set?

I really like the skins you made for you PT's. I would put them in my game, except I already have a set of skins I love and I want all of them to be consistent. I've taken it upon my inexperienced self to create an alien skin set that matches my default replaced S1-S4's. The only thing I have a problem with is how to take the colour of your skins and put them onto mine. As in, taking the greyish-green skin tint and putting it onto the skins I already have. I've already tried messing with tints, filters, and hue/saturation in Photoshop, but all that produced was a gross-looking Maxis match type skin. I hope this isn't too vague, but I'm not really sure how to describe what I mean. Thanks for any help or feedback you can give me in advance :)
