Yes, some part of me IS in fact still the six-year-old who thought the skeleton drinking wine on Pirates of the Caribbean (the ride; I was WAY older than six when the movies came out) was the funniest thing in the entire universe.

The Mermaid (2014 GoS Blind Date gift for Lace)

This year, for GoS's Blind Date event, I was Endymion and my partner, junky, was Abelard. As I read and re-read Lace's application, I found myself thinking pirates-and-nautical and... then I got a song stuck in my head. A song I learned from Mom's old Girl Scout songbook. It's called The Mermaid, and you can listen to it here with Jesse Ferguson or here by the Black Irish Band.
