hat_plays_simsThis is not breaking my "No making Sims 2 stuff in August" rule. No, I made all these in July, and I needed a break from sewing (white lace dresses sell, but they are BORING to make and it wasn't what I wanted to do with those pieces so I'm sulky), so I said to myself, I said, "I'll make swatches and post a hair dump."
Yup okay, so. Twenty-one hairs, boilerplate goes outside like so:

Updated with a header and Sims File Share links as of May 25 2022!
NO PAYSITES. I use Pooklet's color actions, Pooklet says no paysites, so no paysites.
Meshes are included except where noted; yes, it is inconvenient that HP requires you to trot your butt over to MTS to grab her meshes, but hey. What can you do?
Swatches are included in the zip files.
Everything is always compressorized.
Poly Counts: I have no idea. I assume that HP is low, Rose is reasonable, the lone Peggy hair is probably high, and I don't know what SAU and Raon have reputations for.
Hairs are binned like so:

PLEASE feel free to also change the filenames on these folders. Or on the files themselves. They are ludicrously long because it's easier to shorten something too long than go "Okay, so WHOSE Rose D069 Volatile is this?" I don't even keep them that long in my own game. As a matter of fact, if you subfolder these too deeply, you'll hit the character limit and they won't show up. (If, however, your subfolders go Downloads > Genetics Hair > Hat's Ludicrously Long Folder Name, it will still work.)

I like this mesh! I even kind of liked Rose's wet-look textures. But once I got used to Pooklet's textures, they were just too, too crunchy. This, I admit, is not perfect... but it's MUCH better than it was. The alpha nearly killed me; apparently I have no idea what to do when confronted with a layer mask.

In fact, my weakness for curls is so great that I and my moderately badass graphics card are happily ignoring the fact that this hair has 18,600 polys. If your graphics card gets sad when you make it play with high-poly hair, you might want to skip this one.

Okay, so Rose's original textures here were SO CRUNCHY. (Actually, I think this is a Maxis hair from OFB with some bits lopped off.) So I carefully cut and copied and motion-blurred tiny tiny sections of this hair to smooth it out, and THEN I Pooklet'd it. You guys, this one is a labor of love.

Okay, so this is called 'Initiate' and she's in a red ninja outfit because in my game, people who join a religious order wear red before they really really take their vows... and shave their heads. Some more serious novices might just cut their hair very short. Textures are HP's own, but I lowered the contrast in order to make the curls look less greasyshiny, because BOY was that bugging me.
Hysterical Paroxysm does not allow her meshes to be shared anywhere but MTS, so go here for the mesh (get the standalone version).

LOVE this hair. Seriously, I overuse it a LOT. It's one of those hairdos that never ever goes out of style, and I can't believe I forgot the female version. It's going on the list for next time. The textures are all Alfred, although I did add just a touch of blur so that the Flash Powder and Molotov textures came out looking a little softer.

Okay, guys, if you prefer to use Rose's original mesh, um. You'll run into problems, because I didn't make sure the butterfly was prettily colored, so it'll match the hair. Sorry about that. Also, the mesh included here is a REPLACEMENT for Rose Donate 041, not a standalone mesh. If you have previous instances of this mesh with the butterfly, you should know that the last mesh loaded wins. Either replace them all with this one (names are the same so overwriting is easy) or make sure this one loads last.

So this hair is supposed to be an attempt at a Legolas look. It's even called Elfbraid Hair. But you know something? It COMPLETELY covers the normal elf ears. Bits of this use Ja's textures-- the whole top of the head is covered in curved hair she is responsible for, cos I lack the ability to warp.
