My policy, unless otherwise noted, is 'do whatever you want as long as you credit everyone whose work is involved and don't break their policies.' Usually, someone whose meshes, textures, actions, coding, or templates I've used has 'no paysites' somewhere in their policy, so it's probably a good idea to assume, well, no paysites.

Date: 2010-08-02 05:37 pm (UTC)Oooh, ears. I looked around Alfred Askew's LJ last night and got all excited over the fact that she's working on a set of face templates. I really like the mix I have now (Katuchan, Pooklet, Spookymuffin, and Oepu), but most of them I like as templates for starting to sculpt rather than as 'hello I am a random townie!' For one thing, I always seem to make my eyes on the smallish side. It looks more realistic to me.
I know! The damn files were like 2Mb each. Then I used the same alpha for everything and suddenly they were around 500kb each. Bad Tiggerypum. Very bad. I'm sure I downloaded them before I had any idea what was going on with the file size. Twenty-five textures in Body Shop, and eighteen different alphas so that there were, hey. Eighteen textures in SimPE. OOF.
There are just... not enough good hairs out there, really. Not nearly enough. And that's part of the reason I'm Pookletting so many male hairs-- I lean towards smaller ones that look physically possible with little to no styling product, so I'ma Pooklet the hell out of those hairs. I went through my Downloads folder and sorted hair-- I have seventy-three hairs I want to Pooklet and replace (already been Pooklet'd but not fully, love the mesh but hate the textures, that sort of thing) and seventy-eight hairs I just want Pooklet'd too (Nouked hairs, Nouk's hairs, Sims 2 Store hairs), and I do have some favorite Maxis styles that'll go on the list (with age conversions where possible) as Ja does Pooklet'd defaults, because... well, that's the hard part.
Some of Peggy's hairs are so awesome, and others are so... out there... Sometimes I wonder where she gets her ideas. I know the failbraid actually has a real-world source-- I mean, it's exact. There's no way this could be a coincidence. I mean, really, all it needs is the little crown.
