My policy, unless otherwise noted, is 'do whatever you want as long as you credit everyone whose work is involved and don't break their policies.' Usually, someone whose meshes, textures, actions, coding, or templates I've used has 'no paysites' somewhere in their policy, so it's probably a good idea to assume, well, no paysites.

Date: 2010-06-02 10:52 pm (UTC)Well, I like my eyes on the small side, and every so often I get an NPC with GIANT EYES, and... yeah. It's a comparison thing, I think. But I have clean templates, so I only really have to worry about the NPCs, or go the Sim Surgery route. I'm totally making my own townies, but I'm kind of trying to limit how many there are, at least for the first generation. (Although I do have two Sims that a friend of mine made that I tweaked pretty heavily who I'm considering swapping out for one set of merchant founders.) And I think that is what happened with my PTs and Ideals-- but I also really like making pixie-ish faces. It's fun. (I keep grabbing random Sims out of my bin to be hair models. I've got PTs and Ideals and townies all over the place up there.)
Luckily the viral states don't breed true, so Daystar is clean until he rolls a want to become a whatever. I wasn't too picky when I started playing with plantsims, but I really do enjoy playing with them-- they're fun, they never stop doing stuff. Magus is like that, too-- he's not very nice, but he's adorable with his kids (Fae the alien hybrid and Jardin, the kid he had with his teenaged alien hybrid fiancee who just went off to college and left her son behind. Because everything must be tested in the testerhood!)... but admittedly he's not so mean he steals newspapers.
Well, when you cover a lot with plants, it's really a good idea to playtest it and make sure Sims can get to where they're going. And the library just needed something, I guess? I've done several forced abductions (and a lot of 'make me alien pregnant' with the Tombstone), but the testerhood also has more than its fair share of natural abductions-- true, I've got TwoJeffs's hack that increases odds with science enthusiasm, but when your 'hood is full of Knowledge Sims, the telescope is a popular item.
