Deer Season

... I really wish I had a better title, but. For a couple weeks there I was legit obsessed with this project. So.

For Reasons, I need to be able to make a Sim into an eldritch forest god. With antlers and one eye. Luckily, Midgethetree took Danie's Simsational bottom-only conversion of Savant Inamorata's satyr mesh, added morphs, and age and gender converted the thing, and then Simborg fixed a weird shadow issue carried through from the Savant Inamorata original, and now I I have... far too many cervid pants, really.

The Lord of the Forest is gonna get drunk off windfall apples and fight a tree... again. )

And once again it is entirely likely I've messed up a link or seven somewhere (I like big sets and I cannot lie, but I'm only passable at HTML), so please, let me know and I'll fix it-- but in case I don't fix it fast, the Sims File Share folder for everything is here, if you can't download something you want, check there first.

Behold the Tip Jar!

In case you feel like dropping me a buck or two, should you have a buck or two to spare. I don't do pay content and I can't seem to get requests done in a timely fashion, so donors get a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery (you help feed my cats, you get to see lots and lots of pictures of my cats) and my to-do list Google doc, in case there's anything on there that makes a donor go 'oooh, when are you working on that one?'

Castaway Completionist, Part One

Castaway Completionist, Part One

So! I love the look of Castaway Stories stuff, I like the amount of it, I like that people keep expanding and upgrading it (you know, pregmorphs, toes, all that). Three recent-ish upgrades led to this project.

1. Digitalangels' Castaway Separates Project, which provides limitless mixing and matching but wipes off the white bodypaint...

2. DeeDee's Castaway Stories Tattoos, which turns the bodypaint/tats into an overlay box (though I think you don't get the teen options, but ah well), and...

3. Jellymeduza's Shaman and Shells necklaces as accessories.

And you should go check out all that cool stuff before you come look at my stuff.

Maxis kind of did something really satisfying with the aesthetics on Castaway Stories. )

Mage College (A Collage)

This is... not a terribly original set, but it's a set I made to please myself, and if there's one thing I know, it's that if I want something? At least ten people who keep an eye on this blog also want the thing.

So what you get here is, uh, Magic Uniforms, basically: if you took the Apartment Life witch-wizard-warlock stuff and designated it as the Official Magus Uniform, that'd be what this is. Stuff I made, stuff Skell made, stuff Digi made, stuff Ghanima made, stuff Neder made and ElfPuddle edited, stuff that didn't really NEED to get made but I did it anyway, and all of it except the hatless hairs a) pinned to Apartment Life and b) BINX-edited so they stay together at the very front of the AL section of the catalog, and all of it heavily texture-referenced.

What do you get? Well!

Some of this and some of this and of course this and a little of this and a few changes to this and some tweaks to this and some new stuff entirely!

The interesting thing about 'witch' and 'wizard' is that they both stem from the same root word-- wit or wise. However! )

And that's all I've got for the Mage College.

Whites Load (All Linen, Mostly Clothing)

*softly weeps*

Guys I don't want to make any more underwear.

Okay so!

What can I say about linen and underwear, in regards to General Medieviality, that I haven't said several times before? Linen was worn closest to the skin because it launders so well, wicks sweat away, lasts through all the sweating and the grease and the lye and the beating (unlike, say, cotton), and bleaches easily in the sun. Wet linen bleaches white under UV lighting while dry linen starts to yellow, and of course not everybody wore the very best linen, or even the very best linen they personally owned, absolutely all the time.

Basically, in Medieval Europe, everybody wore linen somewhere-- between their skin and their slightly-itchy wool tunic, between their hair that they washed... sometime in the last month, maybe, and their felted-wool hat-- or between their hair and their practical straw hat that might catch. Over a wool gown as an apron, tucked up against the butt as braises, streaming from the upper arms as tippets, pinned to the wimple as a veil-- wrapped around the chin as a wimple!

White linen was everywhere.

This is, effectively, a Linen Dump.

Being a dump, all the Important Information goes outside the cut: Too many cooks who all say no paysites, so, no paysites; meshers are credited inside because otherwise I will lose my mind, but the base fabric is pretty much always Magpie's Linen, and always done in eight color actions from Pooklet's Project Mayhem, CuriousB's Any Color You Like, and Aelia Eco action sets-- in order from whitest to grungest, Pooklet's Time Bomb, CuriousB's Milk, Aelia's Ecru, CuriousB's Oyster, Aelia's Vanilla, Pooklet's Primer, Aelia's Beige, and Pooklet's Grenade. I have also used textures by Alix, Cynnix, and FantasyRogue, and I clearly, clearly went overboard because I am, at this point, sick of white and off-white.

This happens to me when I sew, too, I am SO READY for COLOR. )

Accessory Dump!

Good news, I got bit by the Sims bug again!

Bad news, in the midst of making a buttload of Medieval and passably-Medieval accessories, my hard drive failed. (Well, it's a six-year-old computer and this is the first real problem it's ever given me. I really don't feel TOO bad.) I'm on the laptop, which runs Sims but not well, and anyway doesn't have everything installed because last time I simmed on this machine, I was making custom CAS sets. I WILL be replacing the hard drive, which doesn't look all that difficult, and I was able to back up most of my data (I hope to be able to grab the rest of it, I just haven't, yet), but I'm not sure exactly when I'll be able to get everything together. Fall is one of those 'oh god, so busy' times for me.

Because I know people get concerned and it's been about a year since she got sick, state of the cat! )

Okay, so if you're not curious about the cat, you can skip that part and go straight to the downloads. Depending on when I can get a new hard drive, this and a tiiiiny hair dump may be the last from me for a while; it's harder to work Body Shop hotkeys on the laptop, and actually trying to run the game makes my poor little 'oh I only need it for travel, it doesn't have to be a powerhouse' laptop run hot enough to keep soup warm.

Before we duck behind the cut, I want to say that recolors of these accessories are TOTALLY welcome. Just be sure to credit not only the Simmers involved but also the folks who made the original replicas, if you recolor the replica jewelry. And maybe link me? I do so love shiny things. ALSO! Don't do paysites; some stuff uses Pooklet and Aelia's actions and they say no; most of the rest is photoskinned replica jewelry and while having pixel versions for Sims might count as parody or fair use (because it's educational!), only the jewelers are legally entitled to make money off their hard work.

Fair warning: you cannot layer glasses-bin accessories that use the same mesh (which I didn't know when I started this project). You get one shot with each mesh, no matter what I do to the bin numbers. Ordinarily this doesn't matter, but with the alpha-editable Liana Sims set, things get a little limited unless you can use Bon Voyage jewelry to layer different earrings and necklaces. Once you can do that, the mesh matters less than the jewelry type.

Tl:dr: Glasses-bin, one item per mesh even if it's otherwise layerable; BV Jewelry, one item per jewelry type per Sim.

Also, due to my current reduced computing circumstances, I can't actually check that I got the BV jewelry binned right. Would that I could! If I put things somewhere where they don't belong, let me know and I'll fix it. (Likewise let me know if I mangled any links. Happens, sometimes.)

Well, let's stop dithering and get to downloading! Twenty-Seven accessories lurk behind this cut! )

Thank you for reading and for downloading! If you've made it all the way down here, I have one last thing to mention: because I have to buy a new hard drive, I have to rattle the tip jar.

Wanna help me feed my cats?

In case you feel like dropping me a buck or two, should you have a buck or two to spare. Donors get two things at the moment: a) a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery, full of pictures of the cats you'll be feeding, updated sporadically when the cats do something photogenic and I'm fast enough on the trigger to catch it, and b) a link to the list of content I have done-but-not-screencapped, nearly done, partly done, or in the planning stages, and the option to suggest what ought to be in the next batch of things I focus on.

Blind Date 2015 Link

My Blind Date was GodLimpingBy, and the goodies I made for 'em are up for download!

(Most of the content is going to end up here, either with more of the same or in an altered state, but a) I'm not up to that yet and b) I'm not reposting GLB's private hair dump unless GoS has issues again.)

EDIT 2021: Ye-ah I should really re-code the whole thing and put it here but it's in BBS code instead of HTML so I have to recode the WHOLE thing and I can't just paste in my usual 'on Mediafire | on Sims File Share' thing.

Go HERE to get the files from Sims File Share.

And Dagger (82 each hooded and hoodless cloaks on a Cynnix mesh)

YOU GUYS why didn't anyone tell me that Cynnix made an articulated cloak last October? I mean, sure, I still want more, but ANY is a real good start. Basically as soon as I found it, I started planning what I was going to do with it.

We are 100% horrible people, and I'm extremely happy we are friends. )

Scraps Post!

Not exactly a hair dump, these are goodies that don't fit in any of the larger categories I have for my massive posting spree today.

Just a few little doodads, not even a cute quote in the cut. )

Sign of the Plumb Bob (Nichellerj's Plumb Bob Necklace, excessively recolored)

When you're playing a historical Sims 2 game, there are three ways you can go about religion: ignore and kinda handwave it, meticulously research and re-create the religious environment of the age you're interested in, or make up your own. I decided to make up my own. It lets me do fun things like declare assorted Simmers to be saints in the main religion, play with Chris Hatch's religion mod, and come up with my own ideas of religious symbols.

And... come on. They're Sims. When I decided I needed a symbol that really meant something to them, the only thing that would suffice was the plumb bob.

One of those 'representative of the spirit' things, I guess. )
