Buy Mode Blitz: Sunni Wizard's Tower

Sunni's Wizard's Tower set has had ONLY its wood master meshes recolored in 20 Pooklet Project Mayhem naturals over the SDA Castle Kitchen/Piggi Wood 03 blend I've gotten so attached to. ONLY the lead meshes are included; if you want the rest of the set go here.

I admit, I don't use the whole set in my game. I did strongly consider recoloring the pedestal with my granite, marble, and limestone textures... but I ultimately did not do that. I also didn't recolor the metals because I've been stealing the metals FROM this set to use on other things.

Is this a historically accurate set? ... Well. Depends on the pieces. You can see what I keep-- or what I keep that picks up these wood recolors-- in my game, but that's not curated for accuracy, it's curated to the places where my taste and Sunni's taste overlapped. The chest dresser is great, the barrel is a barrel (I do love a good barrel), the bucket is a bucket, I legitimately think I've seen pieces like the drafting table and lectern in paintings. The tables are a little fancy, as they're purpose-built tables rather than boards on trestles, so they're definitely a little later in the period. The counter table in particular is great, because the Sims use modern fitted-kitchen counters and those weren't a thing until the 1950s. Medieval cooking prep was usually done on a table, or just down on the floor in front of the fire. (Sims can't manage that, poor things, they're fussy.)

The birdcage may be a little late but I love it; the Myshuno game is very Victorian (with recognizable continents, even), and yet when you sit it next to, you know, the regular Myshuno game, suddenly 'Victorian' looks pretty good. I use the shelf and the burglar-alarm-default keys a lot, and someday I will be recoloring the painting TVs. I don't know with what, but I will be. The mirror is a beautiful shape even if it's pricelessly huge (Medieval mirrors were small due to the difficulty of silvering them and the expense of transporting glass), and the hourglass is both a functional alarm clock and recolorable, so, you know, how can you go wrong? The fridge shelf has the drawback that all slotted fridges do-- that terrible inability to fish things back out again-- so decorate cheaply or use OMSPs.

The shed is probably too much wood (an outbuilding that size would've been wattle-and-daub or stone, not wood, timber was too expensive for a thing like that when sticks and stones and mud and manure were free), and... I think that's all I have in my game that takes my recolors? I even usually hide the shed, but it's the lead file for the planks, so I gotta keep it.

And of course there are other bits and bobs that either I can't comment on cos I don't use them, or that didn't make it into these pics, leaving me going '... I forget.' (I remember the scissors are fantastic, though.)

But listen, check out my textures. I'm still so pleased with these-- semi-realistic, sure, but they pass for either worn smooth or polished smooth, which makes me very happy after years and years of splintery, weathered woods.

Barrel showing the planks in all 20 colors; as my swatch-lots are not big enough for 20 of the shed. Cooping is the default/silver recolor.

Counter table showing the solid woods in all colors.

And because my title card shrank them down a lot and I'm just. I'm just so darned pleased with them, the birdcage, burglar alarm keys, and drafting table shown with three of Eva's rats. The birdcage has a slot suitable for any small animal figure; I almost used a monkey but I grabbed the climbing rat as an experiment and got big Amazing Maurice vibes.

Wanna help me feed my cats?

In case you feel like dropping me a buck or two, should you have a buck or two to spare. Donors get two things at the moment: a) a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery, full of pictures of the cats you'll be feeding, updated sporadically when the cats do something photogenic and I'm fast enough on the trigger to catch it, and b) a link to the list of content I have done-but-not-screencapped, nearly done, partly done, or in the planning stages, and the option to suggest what ought to be in the next batch of things I focus on.
