Baby Steps (82 Aligeth-textured Toddler Kirtles, plus bonuses)
I'm gonna come right out and say it, I don't feel like these are my very best work. I was proud of them when I did them, and I'll probably use them, at least until I get around to making something better, but you've got to start somewhere, right?

It's a step in the right direction, after all.
I have been meaning to make some toddler stuff for basically ever. I'm still finding my feet making clothes, starting with textures I already like and sort of bending them to my will. I've always liked Aligeth's Lord of the Teething Rings and Little Boy Blue kirtles, but her meshes have a bone assignment weirdie that sort of collapses toddlers' thighs when they sit down and play at their toys. Since... that's 90% of what my toddlers DO, I couldn't have that.
Cynnix made a MASSIVE set of adorable toddler meshes called Out Of Swaddling, and these are all on her Low Boot gown mesh, which is included.

Some tunics are plain, some are embroidered with Aligeth's original stars (which... only sort of translated well), and some are embroidered with knotwork, which now that I've really looked at it in-game... um, kind of looks like Superman's shield, doesn't it?

I mean, look at that alien fairy baby. (All my babies today are alien fairy babies. It's a house with five toddlers, it was a good place for a photoshoot.) My next batch of toddler goodies will be made with more attention to detail and less 'goddamn my toddlers need some clothes, now!'

But the standard re-enactor rationalization for putting little kids in not-quite-perfect garb is 'eh, they move so fast you won't be able to tell.' (When I was doing community theatre costuming, our version was 'you won't be able to tell from the third row.') The textures are all 512x512 pixels, so they aren't as crisp as they could be (but they're a standard size for toddler clothes), there's a tiny alpha pinhole in the left shoulder that I didn't notice until I had the kirtle on pasty alien kids, and I think...

that the alpha on the underside of the kirtle might be sheer. Not transparent, showing nothing but a flesh-toned blob, but sheer. It's hard to tell on greenish kids, I don't have any flesh-toned toddlers handy, and it's REALLY hard to look at the bottoms of things in Body Shop.
So, consider these stopgap kirtles until I do something really awesome. Serves me right for not using Sherahbim textures to copy Aligeth's look.
All outfits are categorized as casual, formal, and outerwear, so here's a picture of them with my toddler-ready hats:

Handily, I think Ja's Daislia's Altair hood covers up the alpha pinhole.
Okay, let's move on to downloads, shall we?
First the thanks: Cynnix for meshes, Aligeth for textures, Pooklet, Aelia, and CuriousB for color actions, Quaxi for SimPE, DJ for the Compressorizer, and Lyn, for making sure I had a working copy of Photoshop.

These are on the basegame diaper mesh, but with no pins or adhesive tapes, but since I didn't get any in-game pics so they're sort of a bonus. Some of the diapers are a little dark, but honestly nappies were one of the things you used rags for, before they were so worn out you HAD to use them as rags or sell them to the rag-and-bone man. And really, only the truly posh folks would bother bleaching something meant for... well, diapers aren't there to conceal, they're there to absorb.
Wanna help me feed my cats?
In case you feel like dropping me a buck or two, should you have a buck or two to spare. Donors get two things at the moment: a) a link to the Super Secret Cat Gallery, full of pictures of the cats you'll be feeding, updated sporadically when the cats do something photogenic and I'm fast enough on the trigger to catch it, and b) a link to the list of content I have done-but-not-screencapped, nearly done, partly done, or in the planning stages, and the option to suggest what ought to be in the next batch of things I focus on.

It's a step in the right direction, after all.

But for now, I'm looking at Phaenoh's calendar. So yeah hey you want an in-game way to keep track of feast days? I was thinking of making a stand-alone template with all twenty days of the year neatly labeled, so's you can write your own pop-ups.
