Oh man I scoured the internets for assorted increased challenge mods. I don't even use all the ones I listed (my Sims won't need income reduction; they have to pay 10% of their income to the Church unless they're property themselves (slaves, thralls, servos) and taxes to the Crown based on their station in life), but I wanted to make as comprehensive a list as I could. Shoot, even somebody who doesn't want an aging mod might find a use for some of those permaplat nerfers!

And thank you for those links! The pregnancy one specifically might be of interest to folk who are interested in making their own aging mods. I'll have to have a look at the Blender plugin. Ordinarily I'd rather do things on a global than a hood-by-hood basis, but skills could be based on intelligence, and intelligence is individual (and I can use Smart Milk and the Batbox to make it individual), so... Hm.
